Oliver Giroud at the the double for Arsenal edge past Newcastle

Olivier Giroud's double helped Arsenal to a 2-1 victory at St James' Park, although they were made to sweat by Newcastle's second-half rally.
Giroud's early brace appeared to have put Arsenal in firm control of the game and they should have extended their lead when great chances fell to Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey. It appeared Arsene Wenger's side were cruising towards a win.
However, the second period saw Newcastle launch an impressive fight-back, with Moussa Sissoko's goal immediately restoring confidence. Arsenal looked leggy after their midweek trip to Monaco, but managed to hold on to claim a valuable three points in the race for Champions League qualification.
